Port Sorell Myswag Gathering

Myswag is a Offroad Camper Trailer Forum that any one who is anyone into Camping would know about! We mentioned that we were going up to Port Sorell for the weekend and if anyone would like to join us come along. We got some takers so we were a little excited to meet some new people.

Oh and we had finally got the camper painted and put back together so the whole reason for going up the coast to begin with was to make sure everything still worked the way it should.

Going to have to stop taking this same shot before we leave home!

We arrived up there Friday afternoon after work and set up camp. It was a beautiful day.

Not long later and everyone was set up.

Some sites around the area.

We all had a few drinks and sat around the little piggy for the rest of the night.

The next day some of us went for a walk up to Shearwater and then pretty much hung around the beach or camp relaxing.

All the kids played well together after getting off to a bit of a shy start!

We cooked a roast for tea.

After tea we all sat inside our annex as it was a little bit drizzly and had a few drinks for the rest of the night :)

The next day we packed up and headed home. We had a nice weekend and met some great people who we will definitely go camping with again.

Meander Dam Kayaking

Another quiet little gem of a place is Meander dam or Huntsman Lake if you like.

We decided to take our Kayak on the lake for a bit of fun, do some fishing and then around the other side for a barby lunch.

Caught my usual haul of fish....none ;)

See right across the other side of the Lake? Michelle decides she will kayak across the lake and meet us on the other side.........It doesnt look very far until you start paddling!

We had to keep checking through the large zoom lense on the camera if she was still heading in our direction LOL. She has tiny little arms and was starting to question what seemed like a good idea at the time once she got to the half way mark!
Anyway, over 2 kays later she finally arrived to the other side. We already had the barby cooking :)

Woo Hoo She made it! Even Polly was happy to see her LOL

Yep no fish!

It was another fun day out.

A Day Trip to Bakers Beach and Port Sorell

We had a bit of a long weekend so to make the most of it we spent the friday going to the Bakers beach camping area for a look at some future camp sites and then popped over to Port Sorell for a look at some camping sites.

Narawntapu National Park or Bakers Beach for the locals!
