Vic Caravan, Camping and Touring Supershow Weekend

We really want our own camper trailer and Michelle being an amazing hoarder of money just happens to have given me a budget to buy one...........or buy a motorbike..........hmmmm the motorbike doesn't suit fun family life so ill take the money and run with a camper trailer :) We can work on the bike at a later date ;) 

The budget isn't huge but it allows me to go a step up from an eBay Chinese trailer but doesn't extend to an Aussie made set up with all the bells and whistles. Soooooo we headed of to the Victorian Caravan, Camping and Touring Supershow to assess all our options.

We left Tassie Friday after work flying with Qantas using tickets we got for free once again due to Michelle's uncanny ability to hoard things....in this case fly buy points LOL

We arrived in Melbourne in time to grab our hire car and settle into our 'cheap' hotel room before it got too late. We grabbed some KFC up the road, popped into the supermarket to grab some coke and nibblys and had a nice night in the room. The hotel room left a little to be desired but more on that later!

The next morning we were up early and drove over to Caulfield Racecourse to the show using tickets we won online, so once again we got in for free :) 

We spent the entire day at the show looking at everything we wanted to look and some. We all had very sore feet and aching legs by the end of the day!! Oh and seeing as karma has dished us out a nice change of luck lately, we decided to enter as many competitions as we could as well LOL

If we hadn't done enough walking for the day we also popped into a big shopping centre on the way back to the hotel room! Oh speaking of the hotel room it was dirty, noisy and during the night some drunks we trying to get into our room who were swiftly dealt with but it didn't stop the noise!

So after an eventful night the next day we got up early and spent most of the day at Science works. Here some of the sights on the drive over and then all the pics from Science works.

Science works is an all day activity.

After Science works we went to the largest shopping centre we have ever been too!

And before you know it was tea time, we all had something different from the food court, drove back through Melbourne visiting more shops along the way, dropped the rental car off and waititng at the airport to catch the plane home at about 9pm :)

$8 beers at the airport........we bought Maccas cokes and topped them up with our own grog ;)

We arrived home at about 10:30pm pretty tired from a very full weekend. 

We found the Camper trailer tent we wanted, it was a no brainer really, there was only one tent out of all of them that suited us. We also saw the type of trailer we would like, unfortunately at 25-40K it is way out of our budget but we got enough out of the weekend to know which direction we are going to take.......stay tuned ;)
