As usual the long drive to the caravan park was accompanied by some old classic Aussie music ;)
We arrived at the Dover Beachside Caravan Park, set up and had a look around the area.
After a nice first night at the caravan park playing games we woke up to a nice day and decided to fill it with a drive to Cockle Creek Via Hastings Caves and Thermal springs.
So much to see and very little to say, so here are the pics.
The thermal springs are worth a swim and walk around.
Then to continue on down to Cockle Creek for a look. This is the most southerly place on mainland Tasmania.
After a fun filled day it was back to camp for a feed and another night of games.
The next morning we went to the Tahune Airwalk. Another place we have wanted to visit for a long time but have never been able to.
Tahune was nice but having lived in Tassie most of our life we were not blown away by it.
Next stop was Geevestone for afternoon tea and a look around.
The next day it was time to pack up and drive over to Bruny Island. Again another place we have been trying to visit for a long time.
But first to get there you have to cross the water on the ferry.
We arrived at the caravan park, set up and had a look around.
We did the usual touristy thing and stopped in at all the little places on offer.
We also drove all the way down to the Cape to Cape Bruny Lighthouse and it was blowing a gale!
It was back at camp for a night around the fire and some home made Pizzas. Unfortunately I had some sort of stomach bug so I wasn't feeling the best.
However the next morning we were booked in to do the Bruny Island Cruise.
So just like everyone else on the boat we put on the large red jackets they gave us and one of us got very wet!
Ill let the photos do the talking.
It was a wet and somewhat cold cruise considering it was summer and being as windy as it was the swell was large.
Back to camp via another look around and then a nice tea at the local pub.
The next day we headed home via the 'Neck' look out and a few shops back on mainland Tassie.
Back on the Ferry and a quick look at the tram shops at Margate before heading home.
It was a great few days away.
