Simpson Desert Crossing Day 1

My day started out by flying from Launceston to Melbourne to Adelaide, where Marcus picked me up. Marcus had been at a wedding in Adelaide.

We did a quick last minute shop while we were still in the city and it wasn't long before we were fighting with the rest of the traffic to get out onto the open roads.

We went through some nice little towns on our way towards Hawker and stopped at one of them to get me some throat gargle as I had a very sore throat.

We decided to stay the Big 4 Caravan Park in Hawker for our first night.
We set up our swags, cooked a meal in the camp kitchen and spend the rest of the night sitting around the camp fire.

We were in bed reasonably early in anticipation of an early start the next day.
