Simpson Desert Crossing Day 6

Bathurst Day! We were excited because we both thought we might miss it this year but due to our good time crossing the desert we are lucky enough to watch it in some air conditioned comfort.

Ok so I am an early riser.........but why wouldn't you be

Our day started with a hearty breakfast at the famous Birdsville Bakery. Where the little beetle 'Onslo' that a young lady used to cross the Simpson was parked out the front. 

Yes we had lambs fry ;)

This is what you can pay thousands of dollars to come and recover you if you get stuck in the desert.

There isn't a lot to show today because we spent the day in the cabin watching the FORDS win Bathurst, but we did cook a roast while we were watching.

And that was Day 6!
