Simpson Desert Crossing Day 3

We were again up early and keen to see what the day would have for us. It was business as usual along the Oodnadatta Tracks many changing conditions.

We soon arrived at famous pink roadhouse and grabbed some very expensive fuel.

Marcus decided to drop me off and do a drive by for photo of a difference........I should have known he would keep going and leave me there ;)

The road towards Mount Dare is very rough.

We had a quick look at the Dalhousie Ruins.

And continued on towards Mount Dare to get our final fuel refill.

After getting enough fuel to cross the simpson we went back to Dalhousie Springs for a nice warm swim and a chat with some fellow 'my swaggers'

And made the decision to start our trek into the Simpson. We were only about 10 minutes into the crossing when it nearly ended as we hit a wash out at speed and got the car airborne for quite some time!
No damage was done luckily but we learnt a valuable lesson......slow down.

Our first proper Simpson camp site.

The sunset to our amazement the colours were out of this world.

We had another magnificent meal and night around the fire we hit the swags after another great day.
